After completing this post after the week 5 lecture, my computer decided I was going to quit all applications and have a little sleep. I thought that I'd lost all of my weeks blog, until today when looking at up-loading images for my working journal for the first assessment. Alas! I came across drafts! So pleased I didn't need to go back and re-write the week 5 summary, and I am no longer on blogger hiatus! (Lea, please note this was actually written after week 5, but my blogger frustration got the better of me)
This week Lea spoke to us about downloading brushes and creating our own brushes and making a stencil from an image. The fist part of week 3's tutorial Lea talked us through creating our own graffiti/spray can effect using a found image. The image's we chose were black and white so that a strong contrast was allowed to set up a stencil. I selected my image and after eliminating the grey tones with the adjustment graph on PS, selected the area with the magic wand and spray painted it with the spray brush. The end result was a graffiti like image, as posted below.

The second part of the tutorial was about using an image, selecting it and creating your own brush tool that can be used just as the other brush tools that are already in PS, or have been downloaded. The image we created was a sequin that was made into a brush, with the image also posted below.
